Taping and Bracing for Athletic Injuries and Sprains

After suffering a sports-related injury, the road to recovery can seem long and painful – but it doesn’t have to be.
Our physiotherapists based in Calgary, are properly trained in athletic taping and bracing techniques. We’ll help you regain the use of your affected muscles and joints with less pain and in less time.

We Use Specialized Therapy Techniques

We make use of various post-graduate clinical techniques, including the McKenzie Method and Mulligan Concept techniques for pain management and joint mobilization.

Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)

At Prompt Physiotherapy Clinic, we use intramuscular stimulation (IMS) to treat acute and chronic pain. This technique uses thin and flexible dry needles without any medication to release and inactivate the trigger points in muscles to relieve pain.
Dry needling is used to treat many conditions, such as back pain, neck pain, arm pain, leg pain, pinched nerves and tight muscles.

Manipulation

Physiotherapists utilize spinal and extremity manipulation along with other manual therapy techniques and exercise to treat neuro-musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Manipulation of peripheral or spinal joints is the application of rapid impulses or thrusts (high-velocity, low-amplitude movement) at the end of available range to achieve a gapping or subsequent cavitation of the target joint. It is used for the following: increasing movement, pain relief, improving circulation, muscle relaxation, joint nourishment and more.
